Over 5 years ago, I started an Instagram page called @chloe_eats_melbourne to share my love of Lebanese food, home cooking, and family traditions. What began as a creative outlet quickly became something much more meaningful as I spent more time in the kitchen cooking alongside my taytas' and learning the traditional Lebanese recipes that had been passed down through generations.
As I cooked with my grandmothers, mum, aunties, and family members, I started documenting their recipes so they could be preserved and shared. Many of these dishes were never formally written down - they were made from memory and instinct. From comforting soups and fresh salads to authentic Lebanese mezze and family favourites, every recipe carried a story.
Over time, I realised I had built a large collection of traditional Lebanese recipes, which inspired me to turn them into a cookbook. Chloe Eats Lebanese Food was created from a passion for preserving these family recipes and making Lebanese cooking accessible for everyone to enjoy at home.
Over the years, Chloe Eats Lebanese Food has grown into more than just a collection of recipes, it has become a way to celebrate Lebanese culture, family traditions, and the memories created around food. Every recipe in this cookbook has been carefully documented to honour the people and stories behind them, while making them simple and approachable for home cooks of all levels.
In this cookbook, you’ll find a mix of authentic Lebanese recipes and family favourites. My hope is that these recipes inspire others to gather around the table, connect through food, and keep these traditions alive for future generations.
